Lu Mingjun
Lu Mingjun has a Ph.D. in history from Sichuan University, where he is currently associate professor of art history in the College of Arts. He has curated exhibitions including Stereognosis Zone (2015, Guangzhou), Liberated Skin (2016, Wuhan), The Visibility of Strength (2017, Shanghai), Compounds of Aura (2017, Beijing) and Frontier: Re-assessment of Post-Globalisational Politics (2017, Shanghai). His articles have appeared in publications such as Literature & Art Studies, Art Studies, 21st Century, LEAP, and others. His recent books include Writing and Narrating of Vision: The Vision of History and Theory (2013); Visual Cognition and Art History: Michel Foucault, Hubert Damisch, Jonathan Crary (2014); On Meta-Painting: An Art Institution and Cognition of Universality (2015); Post-Sense Sensibility Art for Sale Long March Projects: Contemporary Art Practice and Social Change in China Since 1999 (2018).
Benny Shaffer is a Ph.D. candidate in media anthropology at Harvard University and a member of the Sensory Ethnography Lab. His writings and translations have appeared in Art Asia Pacific, Art Review Asia, artforum.com.cn, Flash Art ‘LEAP’ Ran Dian, Yishu: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art and other publications.
