Lucie Ratail

Lucie Ratail is a Ph.D. candidate and lecturer at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, in France. Her thesis, ‘From pictoriality to musicality: Rhythm and the picturesque in British gothic novels’, studies the importance of sound in both the setting and narration of several gothic novels. She is also in charge of a two-year research project entitled ‘Time effects: Perception and representation of speed’.
