Luiz Claudio Barcellos
Luiz Claudio Barcellos is currently completing a Ph.D. at Georgia State University, focusing on musical creativity, popular music and arts-based research. Barcellos is an MYP music teacher at Atlanta International School. Previously, he studied at Universidade Federal do Paraná, where he taught preservice teachers as part of a MA studentship funded by CAPES. He has taught music lessons at The British School and Escola Americana in Rio de Janeiro, and received the Culture Brazil Connection Award by the British Council and the Brazilian Ministry of Culture, including an artistic residence at the World Heartbeat Music Academy, London, United Kingdom. Barcellos has travelled the world-leading Brazilian music workshops and has facilitated innovative and interactive experiences for students. He has presented his research and shared his teaching practice at NAfME, MISTEC, GMEA, Oxford Symposium, ANPPOM, ISME Latin American regional conference and APME.
