Lydia Sánchez

Lydia Sánchez is an associate professor in the Department of Library and Information Science and Audiovisual Communication at the University of Barcelona in Spain. She holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from Stanford University (California, United States). She is member of the consolidated research group in Didactics of History, Geography and other Social Sciences-Communication (DHIGECS-COM), and the consolidated teaching innovation group in Communication and Audiovisual Media (In-COMAV). She teaches subjects related to communication theory and the relation between media and democracy. Her research focuses on the democratic quality of media, philosophy of communication and communication theory. She is currently leading a project on ‘Media Education and Information Diet as Indicators of the Capacity for Critical Analysis of Information in Future Teachers’ (MEDIA4Teach).
