Macarena Rioseco Castillo
Macarena Rioseco Castillo has a Ph.D. from Lancaster University. She is an associate lecturer of visual arts at Universidad Metropolitana Ciencias de la Educación (UMCE), Chile. She is a scholar and art practitioner, working with practice-as-research and postqualitative methodologies to explore material creative processes. The aim of her work is to understand the role of art practices in the generation, dissemination and circulation of an affective regime of knowledge in the form of sensation, and its potential contribution to education and well-being. Her research is principally grounded in non-representational frameworks such as Deleuze and Guattari’s work, the enactive approach to cognition, and the new materialisms. She has presented here work, internationally, in academic conferences and in solo and group exhibitions.
