Mӑdӑlina Stӑlniceanu
Mӑdӑlina Stӑlniceanu completed her Ph.D. at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom in 2015. The thesis was titled ‘From campaign to president: The racial controversies Barack Obama faced in a “Postracial” America’ and examined the degree to which specific controversies around race developed during Obama’s candidacy and his first term can be viewed as rebuttals to the claim that his victory, although a historic event, has seriously diminished the influence that race has in the US society. Mӑdӑlina was the community editor of 49th Parallel, an interdisciplinary e-journal devoted to American and Canadian Studies (2011, 2012).
