Magali Compan

Magali Compan is associate professor of French and Francophone studies at the College of William and Mary, in Virginia, USA. She received her Ph.D. in French from the University of Michigan. Her current research focuses on Madagascar and the Indian Ocean. She has published articles on Ananda Devi, Shenaz Patel, Jacques Rabemananjara, Jean-Luc Raharimanana and Natacha Appanah. She is the co-editor of Land and Landscapes in Francographic Literature: Remapping Uncertain Territories (2007) and the editor of Visualizing violence in Francophone Cultures (2015).
