Magda Pinheiro

Magda Pinheiro has a Ph.D. from the University of Paris I Sorbonne. She is currently a a researcher at CIES–IUL, ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. She is a member of the Passos Canavarro Foundation’s Advisory Council, a member of the International Commission for the History of Towns and vice-president of the Iberian railway History Association. She is also a member of the Associação Portuguesa de História Económica e Social (APHES). Her research interests include urban history, the history of transport, financial history and biography. Her recent publications include ‘Espaço, tempo e preço dos transportes: A utilização da rede ferroviária em finais do século XIX’ (‘Space, time and price of transport: Railway network use during the late–nineteenth century’), with N. Lima and J.
