Magdalena Furmanik-Kowalska
Magdalena Furmanik-Kowalska is an art historian and a curator. She has a Ph.D. in the field of art studies at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun (2014), and completed a postgraduate course on gender studies at the University of Warsaw (2009). She is the co-organizer of several international conferences on Asian art including Poland – China: Art And Cultural Heritage (2009). She is the author of a book entitled Culture Trouble: The Contemporary Art of Japanese and Chinese Women (Kirin Publishing House 2015). She is the editor of the publications Costume – Mirror of Culture and The Art of Dress, Dress in Art. Her research interests focus on the influence of cultural heritage in contemporary Chinese and Japanese art.
