Mahoro Semege

Mahoro Semege holds an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in film, media and cultural studies from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, where he has taught, among other subjects, storytelling across media and cultural contexts, film genres, post-classical Hollywood cinema and African cinemas. He also holds a B.Ed. (Hons) in applied pedagogy and an MA in dramatic art with focus on cultural specificity and cinematic narration. His research areas encompass civic intervention documentary, postcolonial theory and African philosophy. He is currently postgraduate associate research supervisor at the African Film and Dramatic Arts Academy (AFDA), a CILECT-affiliated film school in South Africa, where he has previously served as head of school.
