Maja Milatovic-Ovadia
Maja Milatovic-Ovadia is a freelance theatre director, drama lecturer and Ph.D. researcher at the Royal School of Speech and Drama. Her research interest includes the use of humour and comedy within applied theatre practice in post-war societies. She studied Directing at the University of Belgrade (BA) and Royal School of Speech and Drama (MA) and further trained at the National Theatre Studio in London and Directors Lab West in Los Angeles. She has directed over twenty productions for the principal national theatres of the former Yugoslavia as well as for various fringe venues in the United Kingdom. Previously she was Associate Director for New Writing – NADA Project at National Theatre in Belgrade, and Balkan Art Season at Blue Elephant Theatre in London. Since 2009 she has been working as an advisor and workshop leader for Most Mira charity organization, which is using art to support the process of reconciliation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
