Manaia Chou-Lee

Manaia Chou-Lee has presented at international education conferences in Europe, Australia and New Zealand and has taught the specialist strand of International Education in the Master of Education course at Deakin University. Currently, she is completing her Ph.D. focusing on domestic students’ understanding of, and engagement with, internationalization in secondary schools and is the convenor for children and student voice across all sectors for the Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE). Before moving to Australia, she led teams at a New Zealand school responsible for the academic welfare and pastoral care of international students; consequently developing a passion for student voice and well-being. Through research, presentations and consultancy, she is equally passionate about highlighting internationalization benefits and challenges faced by students, educational practitioners and institutions in contemporary society today.
