Marc Mayer
Marc Mayer is a Canadian-American writer, curator and art historian. In the 1990s and early oughts he was sequentially Curator, Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo; Director, the Power Plant in Toronto; then Deputy Director for Art of the Brooklyn Museum in New York City. From 2004-2008, he served as Director of the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal. Mayer was Director and CEO of the National Gallery of Canada from 2009-2019. In 2017 he published the sweeping revisionist account, Art in Canada (2017).
