Marco Gomes
Marco Gomes is an adjunct professor at the Politécnico de Leiria (School of Education and Social Sciences) and researcher at the Centre for 20th Century Interdisciplinary Studies (CEIS20) at the Universidade de Coimbra. He holds a Ph.D. in communication science from the same university and, as a visiting researcher at the University of Milan (2009–13), defended his Ph.D. thesis on the subject ‘Where is Portugal going? The April Revolution in the Italian Press (1974–1976)’. His research interests include the areas of revolution and democracy in the context of political communication, the analysis of discourse and media narratives, historical memory and the sociology of organized crime. In 2009, he published the book Political Communication in the April Revolution (1974–1976).
