Marco Ruggieri
Marco Ruggieri is a tutor at the University of Edinburgh, where he obtained his Ph.D. in Italian studies in 2023. His research interests span from Italian contemporary literature and culture to semiotics, media studies and critical theory. He has extensively worked on Umberto Eco and Antonio Gramsci, demonstrating the profound and yet unidentified links between the two Italian intellectuals in his article ‘Eco and Gramsci: Unexplored connections in cultural studies’ (2021). He has presented conference articles at Trinity College Dublin, the University of Warwick, the University of Cambridge and Durham University, and regularly contributes to Il Manifesto.
Dissertation co-directed by Professor Davide Messina and Professor Federica Pedriali, the University of Edinburgh.
