Marcus Free
Marcus Free is a lecturer in media and communication studies at Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick. He has taught previously at the universities of Sunderland and Wolverhampton. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and scholarly collections on the interrelationships between national identity, gender and race in television, film and print media. His most recent book (co-edited with Neil O’Boyle) is Sport, the Media and Ireland: Interdisciplinary Perspectives (Cork University Press, 2020). He is guest editor of a Special Issue (22:1) of Television & New Media (2021) on contemporary Irish television.
