Margalida Pizarro-Sirera

Margalida Pizarro-Sirera (Sa Pobla, Majorca, Spain, 1996) is a part-time lecturer in English at the University of the Balearic Islands’ Department of Spanish, Modern and Classical Philologies. She holds a BA in English language from the UIB (2018). She holds a double master’s degree in modern languages and literatures from the Università degli Studi dell’Aquila (Italy) and the UIB. She is a Ph.D. student at the UIB, where she is researching on Donald Trump’s linguistic style, Twitter and the development of stereotyped ideology on gender. Her thesis is entitled ‘“Words really do matter”: The power of gender, language and social media in President Donald J. Trump’s political strategy’. Her main lines of research are (1) critical discourse analysis, (2) cultural studies and (3) gender studies.
