Maria Foverskov

Maria Foverskov, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Lab for Social Design at the Design School Kolding. She is researching how ‘design as everyday theatre’ contributes to developing performative design approaches for increasing participation and civic agency, when transforming Scandinavian welfare societies’ public services and relations. Maria strives to engage in reciprocal dialogues with communities when transitioning co-design processes and embodied practices into everyday innovation. She engages in partnerships with citizens, public and private partners exploring processes of re-enacting, performing and rehearsing futures, for transforming abstract ideas into sustainable everyday practices, anchored within existing living relations. Recently, Maria has been part of the Civic Agency in Public E-service innovation (CAPE) project at Malmö University, K3. From 2008 to 2018 she was part of founding the Co-Design Research Centre at the Royal Danish Academy (KADK) through the research projects: A Design Anthropological Innovation Model (DAIM), SeniorInteraction and Give&Take.
