María Giaever López

María Giaever López is a Ph.D. candidate in sociology at the University of Westminster (London) on electronic music scenes in the Levant region and resistance dynamics within it. She is a visiting lecturer on research methods at Westminster, holds a double degree in law and political science from the University of Valencia (2013–18) and an M.Sc. in social sciences research methods from the University of Bristol (2018–19). Her area of interest includes questions of popular culture, power, resistance and pleasure, particularly electronic music and dance scenes in non-regulated spaces (DIY practices).
