María Laura Arce Álvarez

María Laura Arce Álvarez holds a European Ph.D. in American literature and comparative literature. She is currently working as an assistant professor in the English Department at the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain. Her field of study focuses on postmodern American literature, literary theory and narrative studies. She has published several articles on Paul Auster’s fiction, native American fiction, American fiction during the McCarthy era and short fiction. She has attended many conferences with papers related to her field of study. In April 2016, her work Paul Auster and the Influence of Maurice Blanchot was published by McFarland Books (Jefferson, NC, United States). In June 2018, her most recent book, Paul Auster’s Ghosts: The Echoes of European and American Tradition was published by Lexington Books (Lanham, MD, United States).
