María Pilar Rodríguez
María Pilar Rodríguez is an associate professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Deusto (Spain) and director of the Ph.D. programme in leisure, culture and communication for human development. She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University and until 2002 she taught at Columbia University (New York, United States). María Pilar has extensively published on literature, film, culture and gender studies. She is the principal investigator of the communication research team at her university and recognized by the Basque Government. Her last two books are Affective Landscapes: Representations of Terrorism and Violence by Basque Female Authors (Peter Lang, 2021) (co-written with Cristina Ortiz) and Basque Cinema: A Cultural and Political History (I.B. Tauris, 2015) (co-written with Rob Stone).
