Maria Regina A. Alfonso

Maria Regina A. Alfonso is an educator with over 25 years of experience. Gina is also a board certified and licensed art therapist and expressive arts therapist-educator completing her Ph.D. at EGS. Gina works in education and mental health settings, and has focused primarily on psychosocial support programmes in post-conflict/disaster contexts. She has served countries in Asia, East Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and Eastern Europe by playing lead role in the development of the Healing and Education through the Arts (HEART) programme of Save the Children International, where she is a global trainer/consultant. In the Philippines, she runs a collaborative with a pre-school, a centre for the arts in health (MAGIS Creative Spaces Inc.), and a non-profit organization that makes education accessible to hard-to-reach indigenous communities.
