Mariana Menezes Neumann
Mariana Menezes Neumann obtained her Ph.D. in visual arts at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (PPGAV/UFRJ), master’s degree in international relations from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF) and bachelor’s degree in social sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). She is a researcher and translator with 24 years of experience in developing qualitative and quantitative research on topics related to childhood and youth. The main themes of her research are participation/protagonism, citizenship, public policies and decolonial studies. She has published articles and books in Brazil and abroad. She is also a research fellow of ‘bYou: Study on children and young people’s experiences and expressions of the media’, a research project funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.
