Marie-Louise Bird
Dr Marie-Louise Bird is a clinical researcher with a background in physiotherapy. Dr Bird’s research focuses on improving the engagement of people with relevant types of physical activity and exercise. She has worked over several years with performers and performance researchers on improving muscle efficiency. The role of the abdominal muscles in ‘multitasking’ for posture, movement and breathe control has resulted in several grants and publications. She is an accredited Pilates practitioner and runs courses for physiotherapists who want to include Pilates in their practice internationally.
