Mario Rossi
Mario Rossi is a visual artist and curator based in London and East Sussex, working across painting and film media. He was awarded Gulbenkian Rome Scholar in sculpture, fellow in creative arts, Trinity College Cambridge, and the Fulbright Award for visual art, New York, 1994. He is currently an associate artist at the Warburg Institute London. Recent exhibitions include Knock Knock, Jerwood Gallery; UnSpooling: Artists and Cinema, Cornerhouse Manchester; Now, Today, Tomorrow and Always, Towner Art Gallery Eastbourne; As Seen on Screen, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, 2019; Go On Being So, Newlyn Art Gallery, 2020. His work is held in Arts Council Collection, England; V&A, London; The Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh and the Saatchi Gallery, London. From 2000 to 2004 he co-curated a number of exhibitions under the title ‘strangers to ourselves’ that examined and brought into focus the geopolitics of migration. He is a senior lecturer and pathway leader in BA fine art at Central Saint Martins, UAL London.
