Maritxu Alonso

Maritxu Alonso is a researcher with a pre-doctoral contract for University Teacher Training FPU2021 from the Department of Art History and Musicology of the University of Oviedo in Spain. She is specialized in Spanish cinema and literature from the eighties, being the author of the book Mujeres Punks: Las Pioneras de Nuestra Escena (2019). She’s also part of the organizing committee of Punk Scholars Iberia and is the creator of DIY label Uterzine. As a musician, scholar and activist, her work revolves around the visibility of women and dissident identities in subcultures.
