Mark R. Johnson
Mark R. Johnson is a senior lecturer in digital cultures at the University of Sydney, Australia. He has published extensively on video game livestreaming and Twitch.tv in leading journals including Information, Communication and Society, New Media and Society and Social Media and Society. He is currently writing a book entitled Twitch for Polity’s Digital Media and Society series. He has also published on esports and competitive gaming, gamblification and digital gambling, and procedural content generation. Outside academia Dr Johnson is an independent game developer noted for the game Ultima Ratio Regum and a regular games writer, blogger and podcaster.
