Martyn Lee
Martyn J. Lee is Principal Lecturer in the Communication, Media and Culture Subject Group at Coventry University. He is the author of Consumer Culture Reborn (Routledge, 1993) and the editor of Consumer Society Reader (Blackwell, 1999). His research focuses on cultural studies, specifically consumer society, cultures of consumption, the political economy of consumption, cultural and social geography and cultural and media theory. Martyn's current research interests include the impact of new forms of social media (such as Facebook, Twitter and Myspace) upon the social and cultural relationships between their users; changes to the production, distribution and consumption of popular music in the digital age; and the relationship between the radical, the political and contemporary popular culture, on which he is in the process of writing a book.
