Mary Nunan
Mary Nunan is a contemporary dance artist: choreographer, performer, mentor. Her professional career began when she joined Dublin Contemporary Dance Theatre (1981–86). She was founder Artistic Director of Daghdha Dance Company (1988–99). Works she choreographed for the company during this time were toured extensively to festivals and venues nationally and internationally. She was first Course Director of the MA Contemporary Dance Performance at the University of Limerick (1999–2016). Mary was a collaborative artist in the Maya Lila Collective, directed by Joan Davis (2002–14). Other artists with whom she has collaborated include Yoshiko Chuma, Mary Wycherley, Jurgen Simpson. Most recently she collaborated with Lin Snelling and Guy Cools: Rewriting Distance, Limerick (2016). Mary was a visiting guest lecturer at the Royal College of Art, London(2016–17). She was a member of the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon (2003–08). She earned her Ph.D. from Middlesex University.
