Massimo Mascolo

Massimo Mascolo is a video-maker, creative producer and Italian Film Academy consultant. Since 2003 he has collaborated with the David di Donatello Film Awards, organizing the annual ceremonies and preserving the audio-visual archives. In 2006, he directed the documentary 50 Anni di David (50 Years of David) and worked on the footage selection for David 50, a short documentary presented at the opening night of the 63rd edition of the Venice International Film Festival. Since 2008 Massimo has produced, directed and edited corporate videos, commercials, documentaries and animated shorts together with visual effects supervisor and digital artist Claudio Napoli. Massimo has collaborated on various projects with the United Nations – Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), and with several universities in the United States. In 2015, Massimo and Flavia Laviosa produced a special issue of the Journal of Italian Cinema & Media Studies (4:2), to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the David di Donatello awards.
