Massimo Riva

Massimo Riva is professor of Italian studies and director of the Virtual Humanities Lab at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island. His pioneering work in the Digital Humanities has led to the creation of several award-winning projects, including the Decameron Web, the Pico della Mirandola Project, and the Garibaldi and the Risorgimento digital archive. He is currently at work on a digital monograph focused on an archaeology of virtual reality in the eighteenth and the nineteenth centuries. This project, entitled Italian Shadows, is part of the Brown Digital Publishing initiative supported by the Andrew W. Mellon foundation.
