Matteo Billeri

Matteo Billeri is a scholar of Italian studies and comparative literature. His research interests lie in modernism and the avant-gardes, Italian fascism, the history of fashion, film and visual culture. His scholarship has appeared in a number of academic journals, including Paragone, Autografo, La Rassegna della letteratura italiana, Antologia Vieusseux, L’avventura: International Journal of Italian Film and Media Landscapes and Dune: Writings on Fashion, Design, and Visual Culture. He edited a collection of G. A. Borgese’s 1930s articles on the sociocultural life in the United States, Imbarco per l’America e altre corrispondenze al ‘Corriere della Sera’ (Nerosubianco, 2012). He also curated an exhibition on the Italian avant-garde and authored its catalogue, Blasting Publications: The Books of Italian Futurism at the UW-Madison Libraries (Parallel Press, 2016). He currently works as an editor and editorial consultant for Mondadori Education, Italy.
