Matthew S. Hesson-McInnis

Matthew S. Hesson-McInnis, Ph.D., is a professor and coordinator of the Quantitative Psychology Sequence at Illinois State University. He earned his Ph.D. in quantitative psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1997. Matthew publishes research on diverse topics, usually contributing expertise on applying advanced and nuanced quantitative methods and data analysis. Recent topics include environmental commitment, ostracism, career indecision measurement, spatial language development, school readiness and executive function, reading comprehension strategy flexibility in elementary school, executive functioning and theory of mind in elementary school, Illinois’ evidence-informed practice initiative, longitudinal models of adolescent substance abuse, preservice teacher attitudes towards gay and lesbian parents, HIV prevention among women at high risk, gender harassment, sexual harassment, children’s perceptions of interparental conflict, research self-efficacy and perceptions of stigma.
