Megan K. Hughes

Megan K. Hughes is a Ph.D. student and contract lecturer at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). As an international award-winning milliner, Megan creates for her professional label, MKH Millinery. Her couture headwear is made for private clients and theatre performances, along with art pieces which accompany written explorations of current hats and recreations of historic hats, as seen in her Haute Topics blog at www.mkhmillinery.com. Megan’s academic interests include creative research methods, fashion theory, ritual studies and community building. In 2022, Megan published two works centred on artist-made masks as a pandemic response: an interview in Fashion Studies (4:1) journal, as well as a review in Fashion Theory (26:5) journal.
