Melis Mevsimler

Melis Mevsimler is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Media and Culture Studies at Utrecht University. She is currently pursuing her doctoral research project as part of the ERC Project ‘Digital crossings in Europe: Gender, diaspora and belonging’. She is the young scholar representative of the ‘Diaspora, Migration and the Media’ section of ECREA (European Communication Research and Education Association). Her research project aims to understand how migrant women who live in London construct and perform diasporic identities by using digital media technologies. She has co-authored the book review of Mediating Migration by Radha S. Hegde (2017) and the article ‘Diaspora and mapping methodologies: Tracing transnational digital connections with “mattering maps”’ (2019).
