Mia Kirsi Stageberg

Mia Kirsi Stageberg is a Norwegian-American writer living in San Francisco. Her earliest fiction was published in New Directions in the 1960s and her art writing was published in artscanada in the 1970s, notably her essay “Stones, Bones and Skin” on the art of Tim Whiten, Sarain Stump and James McGrath, which provided the title for the artscanada book Stones, bones and skin: ritual and shamanic art published in 1977. Her fiction includes Candles (Beatlick Press, 2014), Everything For the Beloved (Beatitude Press, 2010) and Landlords (Silver Bay Books, 2019). Recently she edited Book of Itzolin: Life and Works of Itzolin Valdemar García (Silver Bay Books, 2021).
