Michael Connors Jackman

Michael Connors Jackman is a writer and anthropologist whose work deals with media, race and colonialism, policing and social surveillance, memory, and queer activism. He obtained his Ph.D. in social anthropology from York University, focusing on the legacy of The Body Politic (1971–87), the first major lesbian and gay newspaper in Canada. He currently teaches in the Department of Gender Studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
