Michael Joseph
Michael Joseph is a poet, scholar and fiction writer. He is a professor emeritus at Rutgers University, from which he retired in 2019. He is the founding director of The New Jersey Book Arts Symposium, and has authored fourteen one-of-a-kind, and limited-edition artists’ books and 67 articles. He has published two chapbooks of poems: Failing to Act (Sarah K. Stengle, 2016) and Lost Light (Harsimus Press, 2011). He is the editor of The Robert Graves Review (formerly Gravesiana), and North American vice president of the Robert Graves Society. Most recent publications include Occasionals 2021: Arts and Letters from the Cats in the Basement Press (Cats in the Basement Press, 2021); ‘How English poetry learned to get angry after 500 years of having a stiff upper lip’ in Emotions as the Engine of History (Routledge, 2021); ‘A different look for “the face in the mirror”’, The Robert Graves Review 1:1 (2021). He is the co-editor of All of a Kind: Remembering June Cummins (Cats in the Basement Press, 2020).
