Michael McInnerney

Mike McInnerney was an active member of the counterculture in London during the 1960s. His psychedelic posters, painted murals and work for alternative journals helped promote the music, arts, politics and events of the era. Following a spell as art editor of International Times, he designed record sleeves including The Who’s Tommy and produced editorial illustration work for leading journals such as The Sunday Times and Nova Magazine. He works today exhibiting studio-based drawings and plein air paintings. His work has been shown in major institutions around the world, including London’s Whitechapel Art Gallery and Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Whitney Museum, New York.
