Michael R. Kearney

Michael R. Kearney is a third-year Ph.D. student and graduate teaching and research assistant in the Department of Communication & Rhetorical Studies at Duquesne University. He serves there as student co-director of the Public Speaking course and is an editorial assistant for the Journal of Communication & Religion as well as the Journal of Dialogic Ethics: Interfaith and Interhuman Perspectives. He has published six scholarly journal articles, three book chapters and one essay in conference proceedings. He has received Top Student Paper awards from the Philosophy of Communication and Theory & Methodology divisions of the Eastern Communication Association and was the recipient of the 2022 Article of the Year Award from the Religious Communication Association. In addition, he is active as a published composer and an organist, having given concerts in various regions of the United States and in the Netherlands.
