Michael Tsangaris

Michael Tsangaris is a member of the laboratory and teaching staff at the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus. He gained his Ph.D. at the Department of Communication and Media Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, his MA degree in mass media and communications at the University of Leeds and his Ptychion at the department of Business Administration of the Economic University of Athens. His most recent publications are: ‘Radical communication and social media – political slogans and street art in the time of the crisis’, 2018, JSSER, 3:4, ‘Frame analysis and the rock scenes’, 2017, AIJCR, 7:3, ‘Occupational segregation and gender representation in films’, Lambert, Saarbrücken, 2016 and ‘Sociology of art: Howard Becker’s approach’, in Katsikidis and Pazarzi (eds), From Social Thought to Sociological Theory, Nomiki Vivliothiki Publishing, Athens, 2016. His research interests are focused on subjects related to mass media, gender, culture and society.
