Michael Yao Wodui Serwornoo
Michael Yao Wodui Serwornoo is an associate professor of digital media studies in the Department of English, Languages and Media Studies at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He is also an adjunct lecturer for the Ph.D. programme at the School of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana. He has taught over thirty different courses in journalism and communication in the past decade. He is a communication scholar whose research explores global communication and race, journalism, culture, community media, data and platforms of journalism and journalism practice across different African contexts. His work has notably been published in Journalism, Journalism Studies, Journal of Mass Media Ethics, Journal of African Media Studies, Convergence, Journalism & Mass Communication Educator, Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly and Global Communication Series (Open Book Publishers, 2021). He has twenty years of experience as a broadcast journalist.
