Michela Ornati

Michela Ornati is a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland – SUPSI. Her teaching topics and research interests include fashion and luxury marketing, communication, digitalization and innovative technologies. Prior to entering academia, she had a successful and international executive career in leading industry firms such as DMC, Mantero, Bulgari and Giorgio Armani and continues working as an independent business consultant and start-up coach. She holds an MA in English, languages and foreign literature (Laurea Specialistica, IULM, Milan, 1985), an M.Sc. in business administration (PCT&S, now Jefferson University, Philadelphia, 1989) and is certified in advanced studies in didactics (SUPSI, 2018). Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D. at Università della Svizzera italiana – USI, Institute of Digital Technologies for Communication (ITDxC) in Lugano, Switzerland, with a focus on digital communication and the role of haptics (touch technologies) in e-commerce.
