Miguel Filipe Mochila

Miguel Mochila, a Ph.D. candidate in literature at the University of Lisbon, receives funding from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia). His dissertation addresses the Iberian reception of Eugénio de Castro. He holds an MA in comparative literature and poetry from the University of Évora. His Master’s thesis examined the relations between the literature and thought of Miguel de Unamuno and Vergílio Ferreira. He has participated in several national and international conferences, and has published journal articles and book chapters on the literature and thought of Iberian and Iberian American writers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. He has translated into Portuguese authors such as Leopoldo Lugones, Roberto Arlt, Blas de Otero, Julio Cortázar, Nicanor Parra, Alejandra Pizarnik, Ernesto Sábato, Juan José Saer, Ángel González, Claudio Rodríguez, Samanta Schweblin and Joan Margarit. He is a member of the Rubén Darío Digital Archive (Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero, Argentina) and he is a critic for the journal Suroeste – Revista de Literaturas Ibéricas.
