Mireia Montaña Blasco
Mireia Montaña Blasco is a lecturer in the Information and Communication Sciences Department, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Mireia holds a Ph.D. in Communication. Her research focuses on the impact of the media on people’s well-being, especially on the most vulnerable groups: children, young people and the elderly. After several years linked to professional practice in advertising agencies, in 2003 she joined the Universitat de Vic as an associate professor. In 2008, she joined the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya as a professor. From 2010 to 2016, she directed the postgraduate programme in ‘Advertising in internet and other digital media’. Since 2013, she has been a collaborative researcher of the Research Group on Learning, Media and Entertainment (GAME) at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. She is also a research collaborator at the Communication, Advertising & Society Research Group (CAS) at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
