Misook Lee
Misook Lee is an assistant professor in the Center for the Global Liberal Arts Programme (GLAP) at Rikkyo University. After being a visiting fellow at the Harvard-Yenching Institute (2012–13), she has worked as a project assistant professor in the Integrated Human Sciences Programme for Cultural Diversity at the University of Tokyo (2014–17). She completed her Ph.D. in the field of socio-information and communication studies in the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies at the University of Tokyo. She investigates the possibilities of the transnational public sphere by exploring communicative interaction among transnational activists and the role of media. Her recent publication is The Age of the Japan-Korea Solidarity Movement: Transnational Public Sphere and Media in the 1970s and 80s (University of Tokyo Press, 2018).
