Monika Kirner-Ludwig

Dr. Monika Kirner-Ludwig is currently assistant professor of English Linguistics at the University of Innsbruck (Austria). She earned her Ph.D. in English Linguistics from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich (Germany) in 2013. Her research interests focus on the rich area of Intercultural Pragmatics, which she approaches from both synchronic and historical as well as interdisciplinary and cross-linguistic viewpoints. Current projects include studies into the intercultural pragmatics of youth language, a usage-signature of bilinguals (with Istvan Kecskes, SUNY Albany), as well as media-discourse on refugees in Europe and the United States.
