Mysa Kafil-Hussain

Following an undergraduate degree in Arabic and history at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, and some years working in the charity sector, Mysa Kafil-Hussain completed a master of arts (also at SOAS) in history of art and architecture of the Islamic Middle East, where for her final dissertation, she focused on exploring the links between modern Iraqi art and Yahya al-Wasiti’s illustrations in the Maqamat al-Hariri. Mysa currently works in the London studio of Dia al-Azzawi, where she manages his extensive library and archive. She has also undertaken numerous research and writing projects in the field of modern Arab art.
