Nadia Buick

Dr Nadia Buick is an independent fashion curator, writer and editor. She holds a Ph.D. in fashion curatorial practice and theory from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia. She co-directs The Fashion Archives, a publishing and curatorial project that connects past and present, and industry and academic perspectives on fashion and dress. Nadia is one of the only freelance fashion curators in Queensland and has worked in partnership with organizations including the State Library of Queensland, Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, Rockhampton Art Gallery and the Jean Brown Group. Her exhibitions have introduced significant national collections to Australian audiences, and she is a regular public speaker on fashion, art, and cultural history and theory. Most recently she co-curated ‘Costumes from the Golden Age of Hollywood’, a major exhibition of original Hollywood costume design, currently on display at the Museum of Brisbane, Australia.
