Namrata Rele Sathe

Namrata Rele Sathe holds a Ph.D. in media studies from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Her dissertation focused on the politics of gender, sexuality and caste in neo-liberal right-wing India read through the lens of popular Hindi cinema. Her work has been published in academic journals such as Studies in South Asian Film and Media and the New Review of Film and Television Studies. She currently works as the assistant and film reviews editor at the Studies in South Asian Film and Media journal. Her research interests include feminist media studies, literary studies, gender and sexuality studies and popular culture.
